Incentives
The recent controversy over bounties isn't news to anybody who played football on any level. Simply because it's a game that requires individuals to go beyond pain in order to win. The bounty is one of many tools used to make players at the NFL level play at their highest level and reach their maximum potential.
Attempting to hurt an opposing player is not what bounties are all about. If players are getting paid to hurt another player then it should be a criminal offense. However, if it increases the performance of the players and the team above and beyond a normal effort, then it's no big deal!
